Wishes...

To the wonderful Couple,

I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing, five years of important span of my lifetime, both the bride and groom individually, before knowing them as a couple. Shameemah, being the most hardworking, charmed and respected girl and Milan setting his virtues of life on high standards are the best match. Milan, you gave me the feeling of having my elder brother on this foreign land. I have heard once that friends are family you choose for yourself then I am extremely lucky to have you guys as my family.

I wish you all the best and lots of love for the wedding day and for the rest of your life. Even when all the wishes of good luck will be coming these days and probably forgotten later, I have no doubt that the love, care and bonding you two have for each other will last you many lifetimes over. Have a best life… 

Love and Regards,

Rakesh

Happy Holi...~

HAPPY HOLI.....~  :)

Wishing Everyone A very Happy Holi and Happy Dhuleti!

Feeling quite nostalgic today! missing the days of Holi in India. The warmth of the evening infront of bonefire, the feeling of spring season that comes with it, an opportunity to reconnect with friends and rejuvenate the social ties. It feels great to realize how strongly we follow our tradition and believe in mythology. Holi reminds  a message of victory of good over evil. It is believed that the bonfire takes away all negativity and fills you with new joy and enthusiasm to welcome spring and following summer. People in India take this opportunity to forget bitterness and forgive the mistakes and reunites with a new beginning.

My most favourite day " The day of colours - Dhuleti " follows the celebration of Holi. There is an interesting story behind how the celebration of playing with colours started. . According to the Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna started the tradition of playing with colors during the festival. He was jealous of his soul mate - Radha's fair complexion, because he was dark in color. The young Krishna often complained about his dark skin tone to his mother - Yashoda. To placate the child, Yashoda asked him to smear color on Radha's face, so that her fair complexion is masked. Obeying his mother, Lord Krishna applied color on Radha's face, which changed her complexion. The playful and mischievous Krishna started the game of playing with colors and this is how, the celebration of Holi with colors was started.  While writing this, some happy memories of college days and society where we used to go insane playing with colours crossed my mind! Today, feeling very happy remembering those days, got a very nice email and wishes from India, called home and wished everyone! Hope to reproduce similar fun during this festival here in Australia!

Enjoy the Day people........... :)

Love and Peace,

Rakesh

Choice!

The Nature at its Best:

The Nature at its worst

Make your Choice:

MANDATORY REMINDER from CNN: NASA reports that by the nxt 10 months, earth gets hotter by 4 degrees from now. Himalayan glaciers are melting at rapid rate. Our climate is changing drastically & it's getting worst. We must help fight Global Warming by doing the few steps:

1.Plant more trees
2.Don't waste water
3.Use cloth bag and don't burn plastic.

SAVE THE EARTH

Koshish - The Key

I did not know the meaning of this poem then! My father used to sing it to me during my childhood and it went on till I was a teenager!  I had a habit of sleeping with him till I was about 11-12 years old! With different motivational stories ( Of course, the level of talks had changed as I was growing from a child to teenager!), once a while he would remind me this. And at the end, he would add something! He would say, in my mother tongue gujarati " kinare aavi ne kankara vadhare vage! " means - It is the end time which is toughest when you are trying to achieve something! And at that time never give up!

Giving you something which is treasure for me!

It is YOU !

Today in the afternoon when I entered the room, he was asleep. I picked up my bike's keys and was about to leave the room making sure his sleep doesn't get disturbed. Something just struck into my head and my feet stopped moving. I turned around and had a look at him. I felt this was probably the first time I watched my father sleeping. My heart went heavy. I realized he is getting old. His facial skin isn't that shiny and young which I used to admire years ago! He is getting bald. His lion shaped chest has got more white hairs than before and shoulders have shrunk. In a flash of time, my childhood passed by my eyes. A question popped in my head, what and how much have I given him back for what all he has given to me? Is it really enough what I do as per my understanding for him? A sense of responsibility got stronger and so my desire for him! Realization of time which is running faster hits my brain! Parents are not immortal. !

I left for Australia again this time on 19th Nov,2010. This was the third time I was leaving. We both understand the to and fro ritual now! I hugged him and men don't cry but this time, I did! Not only for the reason of leaving home! This time, my heart was broken! Without saying a word, he said a lot. He gave me the power a man should possess! That 2 minutes of hug was so required! I touch his feet, get blessings and leave for the journey!

I shall and I will stand by you no matter what! I Love You dad!
