EARTH HOUR

The WWF campaign ( Earth Hour )started in 2007 in Sydney as a kind of public statement on climate change.

Since then, Earth Hour has become a global movement, with more than 4,000 cities in 87 countries going dark for 60 minutes last year.

Clearly the main thrust of Earth Hour is to remind folks that we use a heck of a lot of energy to brighten offices, illuminate landmarks, and advertise Broadway hits—and all that energy consumption equals quite a few greenhouse gas emissions.

The Earth Hour begins on March 27, 2010 between 08:30 & 09:30 pm local time.

"Let's stand in darkness for one hour to ensure brightness in our future."

Join to Save Energy.

Please Make Sure that you are a part of this EVENT :) ... Even 5 or 10 mins will count... contribute and see how good it feels.

Let the winter, summer and monsoon start and end on time with no extra warming... Enjoy the breeze of moon light for an hour.. go for walk... share thoughts and ideas...

Visit the website for more info www.myearthhour.org

Its good to be deaf Sometimes!

A group of frogs were hopping contentedly through the woods, going about their froggy business, when two of them fell into a deep pit. All of the other frogs gathered around the pit to see what could be done to help their companions. When they saw how deep the pit was, they agreed that it was hopeless and told the two frogs in the pit that they should prepare themselves for their fate, because they were as good as dead.

Unwilling to accept this terrible fate, the two frogs began to jump with all of their might. Some of the frogs shouted into the pit that it was hopeless, and that the two frogs wouldn't be in that situation if they had been more careful, more obedient to the froggy rules, and more responsible. The other frogs continued sorrowfully shouting that they should save their energy and give up, since they were already as good as dead.

The two frogs continued jumping with all their might, and after several hours of this, were quite weary. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to the calls of his fellow frogs. Exhausted, he quietly resolved himself to his fate, lay down at the bottom of the pit, and died.

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could, although his body was wracked with pain and he was quite exhausted. Once again, his companions began yelling for him to accept his fate, stop the pain and just die. The weary frog jumped harder and harder and, wonder of wonders, finally leaped so high that he sprang from the pit.

Amazed, the other frogs celebrated his freedom and then gathering around him asked, "Why did you continue jumping when we told you it was impossible?"

The astonished frog explained to them that he was deaf, and as he saw their gestures and shouting, he thought they were cheering him on. What he had perceived as encouragement inspired him to try harder and to succeed against all odds.

This simple story contains a powerful lesson. The book of Proverbs says, "There is death and life in the power of the tongue". Your encouraging words can lift someone up and help them make it through the day. Your destructive words can cause deep wounds; they may be the weapons that destroy someone's desire to continue trying - or even their life. Your destructive, careless word can diminish someone in the eyes of others, destroy their influence and have a lasting impact on the way others respond to them. Be careful what you say.

Speak life to (and about) those who cross your path. There is enormous power in words. If you have words of kindness, praise or encouragement - speak them now to, and about, others. Listen to your heart and respond. Someone, somewhere, is waiting for your words...

Choose to have a good day ~

The thongs !

Normally my weekend doesnt bring any surprises or exciting things. It is generally covered with a normal household work ( Which is not most of the guy's choice ), surfing, chatting or going for a movie! Sometimes, my enthusiastic mind reminds me of doing some productive work and thats when I pick up my camera or guitar, lately I would say some study.

This weekend, something tragic happened. Althought I have seen people or things getting seperated, I never got a chance to capture it, except for today. OK dont get so serious. The following photo tour wont bore you. Its near the place where I live.

I was trying to focus sun! ( does this looks good though? )

Thats Nightcliff Jetty, 200-250 meters long, Good place for Fishing and hangouts at night.

Thats when the traggic seperation took place. One of my thongs ( Footware, Dont get another idea!) fell into the deep water, leaving its other half alone and
making my life misrable!)

Just to prove - thas me n the thong is mine....

This whole thing became such a big scene and everyone joined in the mission of getting my slipper back. One lady said, I live nearby and come for a walk everyday. If I see it on the seasore, I will keep it there ( The pointed place). The other guy tried to hook it with fisher-rode but could not get it ( I guess my thong was as smart as me, doesnt fall into hook easily - Kidding m the easiest fish! ). So finally one brave heart came up. Follows:

An aboriginal drunken guy jumped in to rescue my "chappal". Its amazing how one gets so large hearted and brave when he is drunk! I guess alcohol has thing thing to shrink brain and expand heart! ( And damage lever! ).
Anyway, His large heart wasn't sufficient to get two thongs togather. He gave
up, but look what he has got for himself. Follows:

So I have learned again, If you plunge in something for better cause, You always get something in return! ( But make sure you are drunk! )

oh ya! and THE HANDSOME GUY - The end of the story should always be good, isnt it?

Cheers~

The places of Thoughts!

Now not many people read my blog, but whoever reads them, I need little interaction from them!

Since this is the place where I talk in complete sanity or I get insane, this time I am about to get bit insane.

Can you think and tell me which places do you get most thoughtful thoughts?

To make this task bit easier, I will start with myself.

The places where I get thoughtful thoughts are:

1. In the plane
2. while Driving
3. In the toilet (during short visit, during long visit, during shower)
4. In my dreams
5. In the bed before I go to sleep

If your places are same as mine, just say ditto in the comment! ;). The cause can be an incident too. You are welcomed to share such incidents and its outcome!

Love in sanity & insanity ~

Raku

- Contemplate -

Its very important to sit down, ponder and be your own critics.
To feel contented with learning is the end of enthusiasm and so does the end of life.

May god bless all of us and gives the energy to stay humble and grounded.
I wish we all reaches to great success and heights in life.
